Roles & Responsibilities Administration: Serve as a member of the school and district administrative teams Assume the duties of the Principal in the absence of the Principal Assume responsibility for the administration and coordination of school safety procedures Consult with the Student Services Dept. in the planning and programming of special educationOversees alternative school-based programs at the high school Lead supervision for student support staff (i.e., counselors, nurses) Assist in the preparation and implementation of the high school budgetServes as the building's Civil Rights and Title IX CoordinatorCoordinate and communicate school-wide behavioral expectations and procedures for students and families Other duties as assigned by the PrincipalInstructional LeadershipAssist in supervising and evaluating all staff with primary responsibilities in areas assigned by the Principal Assist in the planning and coordinating academic and specialized programming Assist in staff orientation and planning of monthly staff meetingsOversee teacher mentoring programStudent Support: Support Assistant Principals with assigned duties to ensure consistency and alignment in practice including IST (instructional support team processes)Assist Assistant Principals in preparing all reports required through investigations, including those related to Title IXAssist in developing an annual review of the student/parent handbook outlining policies, procedures, and expectations for all studentsPlan and organize regular meetings with Assistant Principals to discuss important student casesAssist in community connection opportunities, such as Senior ProjectAddress elevated parent concernsOversee the use of Edmentum for implementation and consistencyAssist in implementing orientation programs for new students and parents Oversee house office campus liaison responsibilitiesStudent Achievement: Assist the High School Principal in the analysis of student achievement dataAssist the guidance department with the annual testing programs following state and DESE policiesPersonnel: Assist the High School Principal in planning for staffing assignments each year Assist in the posting, screening, interviewing, and recommending of new staffReview all Extended and Non-extended Field Trip requests for High School Principal approvalFacilities: Coordinate school safety drills in collaboration with the Principal, SRO and Central Office Coordinate with the school grounds and facilities department regarding building and grounds repair and maintenanceAssist in the long-range planning for capital improvement requestsOversee new parking process and elevated parking issues
