General Job Description
The VP of IT supervises the planning, creation, implementation, security and maintenance of the company’s information systems and processes. Responsible for the strategic direction for the business’ information systems, identifying and recommending new technologies, managing information programming, conducting feasibility studies, running systems analyses and approving the use of hardware and software services.
The environment at HM Alpha is fast-paced and dynamic, and the VP of IT will need to work well both independently and in a group setting. The VP of IT will report to the CFO.
Responsibilities:

Infrastructure & Systems Management

Oversee the design, implementation and maintenance of robust IT infrastructure, including networks, servers and cloud-based systems
Ensure the availability, reliability and scalability of IT systems

Information Security & Compliance
-
Establish and enforce security policies and practices to safeguard sensitive data and guest information
-
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
-
Technology Partnerships
-
Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with technology vendors, service providers and solution providers

Evaluate and select technology solutions that align with the company's objectives
-
Budget Management
-
Develop and manage the IT department budget, optimizing resource allocation and cost control

Innovation & Guest Experience
-
Drive the adoption of emerging technologies to enhance the guest experience, such as mobile apps, smart room technology, and personalized services

Collaborate with other departments to implement technology-driven initiatives
-
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
-
Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted operations

Additional Responsibilities
-
Make strategic and financial decisions for the company including decisions on cybersecurity, PCI compliance, research and development, vendor selection, and all business applications.

Ensure confidentiality, compliance, and reliability of all corporate, client, and customer data, proprietary systems, and intellectual property.

Manage and oversee the outsourced IT support vendor supporting the properties ensuring SLA’s are adhered to.

Manage the HM Alpha Domain and E-mail administration
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or other relevant certifications a plus.

Proven experience (at least 10 years) in IT leadership roles within the hospitality or luxury hotel industry.

Strong understanding of hotel operations, guest services and luxury hospitality standards.

Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Demonstrated track record in managing complex IT projects and budgets.

Strong current working knowledge of systems architecture, system design, hardware, payment gateways, transactional website development, database development, information management, help desk, security design, PCI compliance, networks, and reporting.

Strong working knowledge of relevant industries and technologies, including integrated hospitality servicing solutions, timeshare points systems, call centers, telecom, credit card payment processing, and multilingual, multi-currency transactional websites and databases.

Experience with; Business Intelligence platforms, Software Development, Web Applications, Budgeting/Forecasting, Data warehouse formulation and administration, ERPs, HRIS, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Office Suite (SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Vizio), Power BI and BI360 experience a plus.
