Role Summary:
The Case Manager is responsible for working with the Federal Field Specialist to identify potential sponsors for unaccompanied children as well as assisting in coordination of the Individual Service Plans for Unaccompanied Children (UC) to aid in their transition to their prospective release plans.

Completes all case management related documentation in the UC Portal within the required timelines.

The ability to implement case plans through good professional judgment while maintaining a team approach is essential.

Liaises with the UCs, FFS (Federal Field Specialists), families and sponsors.

Provides support and technical assistance to partners related to issues of service delivery, documentation, reporting, and Child Welfare best practices, and federal guidelines.

Able to work as a team member.

Maintains the highest level of confidentiality and professional boundaries with clients and staff.

Must complete crisis prevention/intervention training (Pro-ACT) within the first 90 days of employment and willingly support incidents of crisis intervention and client de-escalation.

Maintains a caseload of clients and follow them from admission to discharge.

A bachelor's degree in human services or related field from an accredited university is a minimum requirement.
- Four years of direct experience in working in human services or social services field will be considered in light of a degree.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required; proficiency in other languages is preferred.

Ability to handle crisis intervention, conflict, confrontation or other complex people situations with compassion and decisiveness

Experience working with traumatized/exploited children and children with behavioral problems.
- Demonstrated ability to service a diverse group of clients, to include refugees or other minority families is preferred.
Specific Requirements:

Valid CA Driver License with a minimum of two (2) years good driving history and must be approved by the agency’s insurance carrier to drive agency vehicles. Or ability to facilitate travel for and with clients to and from potential job sites and lesson destinations used for training, using available transportation resources which may include public transportation, rideshare, etc.
