QTC is hiring immediately for an Audit and Compliance Specialist! This is a full-time, non-exempt, salaried position. It offers the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule (working 3 business days per week from home and 2 business days per week in the office). This is a position for a professional looking for a start in the audit and regulatory compliance space with a small but growing company. Covered parking may be available.
Qualified Trust Company (https://qualifiedtrust.com) is a financial services firm headquartered at 8360 East Raintree Drive, Scottsdale, Arizona (near the 101 and Raintree). We provide rollover account administration services for all types of qualified retirement plans including: 401(k), Profit Sharing and Defined Benefit (including Cash Balance) Plans and corporate trustee services for qualified retirement plans.

Job Summary: The person in this position is responsible for Qualified Trust Company's internal controls. The role coordinates completion of all audits and examinations by third parties and regulators and implements action plans that results from those events. Additionally, this person ensures that Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) policies and procedures are being followed consistently. Training will be provided, but the successful candidate should be comfortable learning independently.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist examiners, auditors, and regulators making available the information that is necessary to complete their reviews
- Advise and guide team members on the accurate and timely completion of audit and attestation engagements, provide feedback, and assess performance periodically
- Communicate audit results to process owners, explore with them to identify root causes, and help them establish appropriate action plans; Ensure monitoring and remediation are completed in a timely manner
- Perform Compliance Risk Assessments of business units and programs
- Select, obtain, and inspect transactions or original documentation as evidence of control performance
- Build and maintain a thorough understanding of the company's financial and operational processes and systems
- Participate in and manage business process improvement initiatives to provide guidance and support on control design and implementation of controls
- Assist with administration of the BSA/AML/OFAC Compliance program; Ensure quality control reviews and monitoring are prioritized and scheduled as necessary for BSA, USA Patriot Act, AML, OFAC, and Customer Identification Program compliance under the guidance of the BSA Officer
- Regularly run OFAC and 314a checks, researching any and all matches
- Stay informed of new and pending laws and developments related to compliance issues; Analyze requirements, appropriately revise policies and procedures, and ensure communication and implementation of regulatory changes
- If time permits, assist related companies with similar tasks
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications:
- 1 – 2 years of experience in the trust company industry
- Bachelor's degree
- Strong initiative with exceptional analytical and reasoning skills
- Effective organizational and planning skills with the ability to successfully guide projects through to completion
- Detail oriented and improvement focused
- Bilingual speaking a plus
- Knowledge of modern office procedures and methods including telephone communications, office systems, and record keeping
- Working knowledge or ability to quickly grasp concepts of rollover IRAs and trust company functions
- Knowledge of modern business communication, including style and format of letters, emails, memorandum, minutes, and reports
- Ability to use a personal computer and proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision
- Superior organizational and prioritization skills
- Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to multi-task
Compensation and Benefits:
- $70,000 - $90,000 with relevant experience
- Salaried/non-exempt position; eligible for overtime

Work Location/Hours:
- Hybrid of work from home and in the Scottsdale, AZ office
- Must work from USA and be authorized to work for any US employer
- Approximately one time per year, travel to company training or industry events
