PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate the CNC laser cutting machine and other machinery used in the sheet metal department or assist other machine operators.
- Select and set up lenses based on material type and thickness, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment.
- Knowledge about nozzles used during laser cutting operation.
- Monitor fill level of bulk tank system and report reordering levels to the supervisor.
- Work in a fast-paced environment with fast changing priorities.
- Work with automated storage system.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
- Follow all company rules and policies.
- Follow all safety rules and quality standards.
- Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Assemble items as instructed by shift leader or floor supervisor.
- Prepare product for shipment.
- Lift raw materials, final products, and items prepped for shipment, manually, or using overhead crane and forklift.
- Operate machinery used in the production process or assist machine operators.
- Uphold all ISO and OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ years of experience on Mazak, Trumpf, Amada or similar CNC laser cutting machines.
- Solid background working with sheet metal.
- Proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills.
- Ability to distinguish material types including Steel, A36, SSAB, Grade50, Stainless Steel and other types of metals.
- Flexible schedule is required; this position requires shift work as well as overtime and weekend work from time to time.
- Candidate has to be a strong team player.
- Candidate has to be reliable.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS (PREFERRED)
- Knowledge of manufacturing concepts.
- Ability to grasp modern technology quickly.
- Must be a good communicator.

- Basic knowledge in G-CODE.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Knowledge of lifting techniques.
- Ability to lift heavy items.
EDUCATION
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Physical/Mental Demands:
- Medium physical work equal to exerting 20 to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Regularly required to stand, bend and reach.
Environmental Working Conditions:
- Work performed in a shop environment
- Exposed to any number of elements, but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable
- May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shifts from one station to another during the assembly process.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
