Job Summary:
Our Paraeducators assist teachers and other professional practitioners by providing instructional support to further enhance the efficiency and productivity of educational environments.
Essential Job Functions:
- Greets incoming personnel, to include the check-in/out procedures of students, parents and other visitors
- Assists students with the organization and completion of daily work assignments
- Creates and maintains the student attendance database and student records; generates reports on student attendance, create letters to parents regarding student absences
- Prepares homework request per student absences
- Follows established procedures for monitoring student behavior when supervising small or large groups
- Monitors students whereabouts and observes student safety
- Performs routine clerical duties such as copying, typing, answering/making telephone calls, and basic troubleshooting
- Performs additional non-instructional duties including, but not limited to, parent pick up/curbside duty, cafeteria duty, bus duty, hall duty, office duty, and class coverage, as necessary
Education and Experience:
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- A minimum of two (2) years working with children within an instructional, educational or related setting
Preferred
- Associates Degree from an accredited college or university
Employment Terms: Employment may be offered as a 10-Month (185 Day) contract, at a minimum of 7.5 hours worked per day. This position is evaluated annually.
