Job Overview: This role involves the assembly, fitting, and welding of pipes and structural materials to create components used in various structural forms such as piping/instrumentation, vacuum jacketed piping, and spool piping. The position requires selecting equipment, planning layouts, assembling components, and performing welding tasks using different techniques.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Choosing equipment and planning layouts for fabrication tasks.
- Positioning, aligning, and fitting components together.
- Creating components based on sketches, blueprints, or instructions.
- Securing parts for welding using bolts, clamps, and tack-welding.
- Operating equipment and welding parts using arc, TIG (GTAW-ARC), submerged arc, or other welding methods.
- Repairing and modifying products by disassembling, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
- Using hand and power tools as necessary.
- Inspecting welds to ensure they meet size and visual standards.
- Tack-welding pieces for fit-up and performing vertical or overhead welding.
- Removing excess weld, slag, or spatter by grinding or chipping.
- Assembling completed spool pieces into final assemblies based on specifications and drawings.
- Ability to qualify for ASME Code welding as needed.
Qualifications: Successful candidates should be able to perform each essential duty effectively. Preferred qualifications include the ability to weld in a 6G position, a High School Diploma, GED, or technical school education, and one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing, using hands for tool handling, and reaching with hands and arms.
- Frequent walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, or crawling.
- Occasional sitting and verbal communication.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Specific vision abilities such as close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work Environment:
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Moderate noise levels in the work environment.

Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour
