In accordance with CA law, the expected pay range for this CA position is posted with this position. The actual compensation may be determined based on bona fide factors such as education, experience, and other factors permitted by law.
Salary range for this position: $87,500 - $121,120.46 (annually)
Hiring Range for this position: $87,500 - $87,500 (annually)

Overall Function:
Responsible for the daily operations of the Mental Health Services and Case Management delineated in Optimist Youth Homes and Family Services contract with the Department of Mental Health (DMH).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
1. Ensures clinical component, working in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Mental Health Programs, to facilitate effective and efficient running of the Mental Health Programs as a division of OYHFS.
2. Supervises and maintains direct, daily monitoring of the daily clinical interventions of Mental Health Services and Case Management of the clinicians and the Los Angeles CMH office.
3. Provides assistance and feedback to Social Workers as it relates to clinical interventions, crisis management and DMH documentation.
4. Interviews and recommends hiring of therapists and clerical staff.
5. Trains new staff in DMH policies, procedures and documentation.
6. Monitors flow of documentation from clinicians as it relates to DMH regulations.
7. Audits documentation and billing, ensuring adequate record keeping of charts.
8. Ensures compliance with DMH and other regulatory agency regulations and protocols.
9. Attends DMH related meetings and trainings, hosted by DMH or DMH related agencies.
10. Manages referrals, networks and interfaces with directors, supervisors and social workers from other programs.
11. Facilitates weekly unit / team meetings.
12. Supervises and evaluates staff, providing disciplinary action when needed.
13. Attends and participates in division meetings, mandatory trainings and in-services as required.
14. Performs other tasks and responsibilities as deemed appropriate by program supervisor.
15. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
1. Possesses an MSW or MFT degree and be licensed as a LCSW or LMFT. (Registration with Board of Behavioral Sciences mandatory).
2. Knowledge and competence in DMH documentation, policies and/or procedures.
3. Ability to provide supervisory and leadership experience based on a minimum of 2 years direct practice experience.
4. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
5. Ability to manage time and be flexible in duties.
6. All employees, regardless of position service as role models for children and adolescents who are serviced by our Agencies. Therefore, each employee must at all times be emotionally stable and able to function effectively with children, adolescents and adults who may have mental or behavioral problems. The staff must be able to demonstrate appropriate daily behavior, appropriate expression emotions, as well as appropriate role modeling. Hostility, aggression and unnecessary or inappropriate physical actions as well as inappropriate emotional expression are not acceptable.
7. Must be able to pass criminal/fingerprinting background check, TB test, physical examination and drug testing. Must have a valid California Drivers License and a clear DMV record. Must have the visual, physical and technical ability to independently operate a variety of office equipment including the use of a computer. Will also require bending, stooping, filing and lifting of files.
8. All agency employees must maintain confidentiality of client and case information, and may not access information unless directly related to their job responsibilities and duties, as stated in Title XXII 88069.7 (d): All information in case records shall be confidential and shall be available only to the licensing agency, placement agency staff and personnel who need access for the performance of their duties.
