Responsibilities:
- Tacker Welds short beads at points specified by layout or welding diagram along overlapping edges of metal parts to hold parts in place for final welding.
- Bevel Prepping
- Performs tasks of Fitter Helper.
- May also tack-weld, using hand, submerged, or gas-shielded arc welding equipment.
- Follow oral and written directions.
- Work within company policy as outlined in the H+M Employee Handbook as well as the H+M Safety Manual and OSHA Safety rules.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.
Qualifications:
At least (1) year of verifiable Tack welding experience. Other qualifications include:
- Able to work both independently and within a team environment
- Must be able to work overtime when needed
- Must be able to pass a drug test
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various positions (standing, kneeling, bending) for extended periods.
- Capacity to work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and varying temperatures.
- Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, hood, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.
