Job Description:
Trek Prosthetics and Orthotics is a family owned and operated company that strives to bring patient centered and outcome focused prosthetic and orthotic care to the patients we serve. Trek Prosthetics is seeking a qualified individual to perform the necessary duties as a patient care coordinator to add to our growing team. The patient care coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring that our patients continue to receive the absolute best patient care experience.
Core Responsibilities:
- Answers incoming calls in a professional and courteous manner, promptly responding to requests and inquiries or directing/triaging calls for clinical personnel
- Greets patients and visitors in a welcoming and helpful manner
- Obtains patient demographic information and accurately enters and updates patient charts
- Schedules patient appointments and ensures that all required follow-up is complete
- Confirms future appointments following established guidelines
- Performs pre-visit chart audit reviewing for required documents and plan of care requirements
- Explains insurance requirements (PCP appointment, paper work, copay etc.) to patients and families and tracks to completion making follow-up outreach as needed
- Collects documentation and patient payments as determined by insurance benefits
- Documents all patient related activity in patient chart in an accurate, thorough, and timely manner
Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- One - two years of medical office experience working directly with patients (preferred)
- EMR/Nymbl experience (preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with patients, physicians, and coworkers in a tactful, informed and service-oriented manner
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage required follow-up communications
