You will be responsible for improving patient’s health and well-being by working with providers and patients to design and create the most appropriate customized therapy utilizing compounded and nutritional options. Our pharmacy is compounding only and we do not contract with insurance companies. We are open Monday thru Friday from 9:00am – 5:30pm and we are closed weekends and holidays. The duties will include typical retail pharmacy responsibilities, drug information resource for patients and providers, formula development, and patient counselling. The ideal candidate will be expected to be an integral part of the team where needed and capable of leading technicians in a positive and professional manner.
Our pharmacists are frequently called upon for medication counseling, vitamin and supplements recommendations, and collaborating with providers on some of their most challenging clinical situations. Strong communication skills and confidence to start discussions with our patients and providers about their health are required.
Accountabilities
· Provides excellent customer service to patients and providers about customized medications to ensure optimal treatment outcomes.
· Assists in developing compounded formulations.
· Uses appropriate resources to ensure each compound’s stability and potency.
· Works collaboratively with fellow team members to ensure the smooth running of pharmacy operations while working towards meeting management’s operational goals.
· Committed to team concepts and to personal and professional growth.
· Stays abreast of changes within the pharmacy profession regarding the standard of practice and pharmacy compliance with rules and regulations of the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy and/or other regulatory agencies.
· Researching and updating knowledge on drug indications, usage, pricing, dosing, administration, and interactions.
· Performs all functions of a pharmacist, including processing and checking prescriptions and providing direct supervision for dispensing and preparing medication.
· Addresses complaints and works to resolve patient/provider issues.
· Communicates concerns to management before they become problematic.
· Assists in the hands-on compounding process for new and existing products when needed.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Experience in a busy retail setting.
· Consistent ability to solve problems under pressure and ability to handle problems involving several variables in a variety of situations.
· Dedication to high quality results and passionate commitment to patient care and clinical compounding.
· Ability to balance pharmacy’s operational needs with patient concerns.
· Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, flexible.
· Must be able to fluently communicate in English, both written and verbal.
· Exhibit punctuality and low absenteeism.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
Required License: An active license to practice in Indiana
