Summary
As a Carrier Sales Associate, the primary responsibility is to establish, nurture, and cultivate relationships with carrier partners, ensuring a diverse range of capacity options. This role is crucial to our carrier network and maintaining a high level of service excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Relationship Building: Establish, nurture, and cultivate relationships with carriers, dispatchers, and load planners to ensure reliable capacity options.
- Carrier Management: Manage carrier network to deliver an exceptional experience by maintaining constant contact with carriers, securing additional truck capacity, and managing both existing and new business.
- Service Excellence: Provide exceptional service to carrier partners, addressing their needs and resolving any issues promptly and effectively.
- Negotiations: Conduct skilled negotiations around pricing for ad hoc and dedicated business, and handle rate negotiations with carriers on a spot rate basis.
- Market Analysis: Monitor industry market trends and carrier performance to make informed decisions and optimize logistics solutions adapting to the ever-changing market.
- Technology Utilization: Navigate Transportation Management System (TMS) and related technology tools to manage operational tasks and support informed buying decisions.
- Load Management: Complete assigned loads in the system, including coding of accessorial charges.
- Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Ability to work Monday- Friday with the willingness to work outside these hours to ensure exceptional service, based on business need
- Prior customer service experience, inside sales, and/or business development experience preferred
