Grants CoordinatorPurpose of the Position: The Grants Coordinator of the Medford Public Schools works in the Office of Finance and Operations managing the districts federal and state external funding opportunities through the coordination of applications and various elements of compliance.District-wide positionDescription: The Grant Coordinator serves as the districts manager of grants and grant related programming and is responsible for the coordination and facilitation of external funds including but not limited to Title 1 and all other state and federal entitlement and competitive grant opportunities. The Grant Coordinator will demonstrate proficient acknowledgement in procurement and compliance regulations with respect to external funding through public and private grants. The Grant Coordinator will also provide support to district administrators related to COVID-19 related federal and state funding and other opportunities made possible through the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.Essential Duties: Work closely with district administrators to keep them informed of specific funding opportunitiesPrepare and disseminate an Annual Report of Grant ActivitiesWork closely with the Assistant Superintendent and Comptroller to create projected budgets, oversee grant accounting and monitor grant expenditures, support budget managers in purchasing process, ensure compliance with contracting and bidding requirements, submit regulatory reporting, and prepare financial reports for the annual budget and other publications.With support of senior district leadership team, contribute to the writing of innovative and competitive grant proposals and develop collateral materials that provide important data and information regarding educational programs, student achievement, and other educational and/or system information.Other duties: Performs any other duties as assigned by the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendents, and District Comptroller.Credentials: Bachelors Degree.Grant writing experience is strongly preferred.Appointment contingent upon successful background and reference checks.Equipment/Environment: Use standard office equipment such as personal computers, printers, copy and fax machines, and telephone.
