Industrial / Manufacturing Engineer
Objectives of this role:
- Manage the document and process change control board.
- Ensure production has all the required tools, equipment and documentation needed.
- Analyze existing systems and processes and identify value-added and non-value-added activities in order to prevent waste and inefficiency in the design and manufacturing processes.
- Conceive, design, develop, and test innovative solutions based on analysis and organizational objectives.
- Evaluate new and existing processes, equipment, and materials as an input for scheduling, performance metrics, and financial standards.
- Coordinate employee training for improvement projects.
- Identify opportunities to improve process control and reduce variation within the design and manufacturing processes.
- Launch products within optimal time, budget and quality.
- Implementation component of the NPI team, main liaison between PM, design and manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Is an integral member of each project team and is thoroughly involved from the very early quoting stage.
- Work with operations in managing the master facility layout, improve manufacturing efficiency and capacity by analyzing and planning workflow, processes, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Work with operations to develop and define standard-work tables.
- Provides estimated manufacturing costs by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
- Manages the ECR/ECN process.
- Manages process characterization for feedback to design engineering and DFMEA.
- Manages PFMEA, control plan, in-process monitoring, quality plan and the implementation of fixtures and jigs in coordination with the quality department.
- Utilizes lean manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies, and root-cause analysis to formulate and support innovation, corrective actions, and improvements.
- Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching control methods, and conferring with equipment vendors.
- Create and maintain required documentation for manufacturing processes, including flow charts, capacity and utilization studies, time and motion studies, standard work, cycle time analysis, and line balancing.
- Work with the safety department in establishing safety procedures for individuals working with dangerous materials and evaluating processes and equipment to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Troubleshooting problems associated with manufacturing processes.
- Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Able to develop product and process databases.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Salary to be commensurate with experience and skills.
- Must be flexible and willing to get hands dirty within the manufacturing process.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
