This position performs a variety of grounds maintenance tasks for the assigned area. Duties and responsibilities include operating small equipment, cleaning, and repairing of assigned grounds, facilities, and equipment.
DUTIES: Trash pickup and disposal, which includes trash receptacles and loose trash on grounds. Restroom maintenance and cleaning, facility maintenance and cleaning, mowing, weed eating, landscape maintenance, leaf mulching and/or pickup. This staff person will also assist in the repair of turf areas, sports fields, playgrounds, irrigation systems, shelters mowing equipment and etc. The position will also be utilized at all Parks facilities and will be used to assist with internal Parks projects and improvements. Employee could be assigned to Golf Division, Cemetery and Public Works when needed to assist in projects, meet deadlines or prepare for special events.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma (or GED) and one year of vocational school education in heavy equipment, with six months to one year of experience safely operating light and medium equipment (or related) required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
SALARY: Pay Grade G1; $41,600 ($20.00/hour) - plus full benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision; retirement; term life insurance. The City pays 95% of medical insurance premium costs for single and family coverage.
WORK HOURS: Weekdays 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., overtime and weekend work required.
