Duties/Requirements Include :
The Certified Peer Support Specialist position is designed towards working with individuals with serious and persistent mental health needs in the community.
- Engaging with people receiving services prior to and after their appointments within the organization.
- Provide mentorship to people who identify as having a mental health diagnosis.
- Assist participants in developing power statements and person medicine.
- Providing Peer-to-Peer Support to individuals on caseload when needed.
- Provide assistance in areas including linking members to various community resources, services and/or programs, housing and self-advocacy.
- Offer Peer Support for members who seek out help.
- Document engagement with each person in the electronic medical record system.
The Certified Peer Specialist position requires the worker to hold the Certified Peer Specialist certification and at least have a GED. All candidates must have personal lived experience or lived experience through a family member.
