ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Administer City wide audio visual broadcast systems.
Provide assistance, technical advice, and technical support to end users.
Provide users with information regarding changes in software applications and system procedures.
Schedule and conduct routine maintenance on workstations, laptops, phones, tablets, and other related computing equipment while minimizing system downtime.
Deliver, install, set up, configure, upgrade, and maintain personal computers, network devices, printers, and other hardware.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve IT related issues.
Process requests for loaner laptops and desktop systems and document equipment loan and return.
Maintain accurate records of help-line calls, site visits, and requests for technical support, and maintain accurate records of the problem status and completion, frequency, types, and resolution of problems for future reference.
Support assigned software and network applications such as PC based applications or department-specific programs.
Attend City commission meetings and provide audio visual support and technical assistance to residents and City staff members, as needed.
Perform other work as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Working knowledge of network hardware and software, including experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and service desk ticketing software.
Skill in providing customer support and customer service to users at various technical levels.
Skill in the operation of modern office equipment, computers, and software, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Ability to evaluate, audit, deduce, and assess data using established criteria. Includes exercising discretion in determining actual or probable causes, problem solving, and using creativity in developing solutions.
Ability to provide guidance and assistance to users based on standards and industry best practices.
Ability to operate and control the actions of equipment requiring complex and/or rapid adjustments.
Ability to utilize a wide variety of reference, descriptive, advisory, and/or design data and information and to apply principles of rational systems.
Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
Ability to regularly attend work and arrive punctually for designated work schedule.
Ability to work a flexible work schedule that may include nights, weekends and holidays.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, city officials, and the general public.
Ability to communicate information tactfully and impartially, both in person and in writing with all staff, city officials, and the general public.
Ability to demonstrate proficiency in the City of Winter Park Core Competencies.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and keep accurate records.
This position is performed with working knowledge – incumbent has the ability to recall and apply important/commonly-used information from relevant source documents or in a particular subject field, has access to reference documents when necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology or related field, supplemented by a minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience with computer hardware and software applications; building, troubleshooting, and diagnosing system problems; performing routine maintenance; and providing user support/training. Previous experience should include support of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows, and Help Desk/Service Desk ticketing software.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience, which provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities and other competencies required for the position may be considered.
CERTIFICATIONS, TRAINING, SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
NOTE: All certifications must be current at the time of application, and must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
Possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver’s License, Class E or higher.
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation Certification (Must be obtained within twelve months of hire).
Network+ Certification.
Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA).
Possess CJIS/FDLE Certification (Must be obtained within three months of employment).
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Physical
This is light work requiring the exertion of 0 – 20 pounds of force occasionally and 0 – 10 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, and reposition objects.
Ability to traverse about an ADA accessible office setting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to remain stationary at a keyboard for extended periods of time and continuously operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
Ability to manipulate objects and demonstrate small, precise movements repetitively.
Environmental
Tasks may require infrequent exposure to adverse environmental conditions including inclement weather, sun, extreme temperatures, odors, dirt and dust, loud noises, and hazardous chemicals, etc.
Sensory
Tasks require the manipulation of objects and demonstration of small, precise movements, the ability to detect and distinguish various features of one’s surroundings, and the ability to effectively communicate and exchange information with others.
