JOB TITLE: English Teacher - High School
- SALARY: Newly certified teachers starting at $50,000

What are the major job responsibilities?
The Tier 2 ELA Teacher provides instruction to pre-identified students utilizing CEN’s approved Tier 2 curriculum. This role will instruct up to six sections of the Tier 2 ELA class; within the class, instruction will take the format of whole-group, small-group, individual, and computer-assisted learning. This role requires a commitment to ongoing learning and a high level of collaboration; the Tier 2 ELA Teacher must participate in all required training for the use of the Tier 2 curriculum and will meet frequently with academic leadership to monitor and review student progress, receive feedback on implementation of the curriculum, and prepare student/family communications.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- High-quality intellectual planning and preparation for student instruction using CEN-approved Tier 2 ELA curriculum (Read180)
- Accurate and timely tracking of student data and ongoing progress monitoring using a combination of provided tools
- Frequent review of student progress monitoring with assigned academic leadership
- Assist with screening and evaluation of students using CEN-provided tools
- Collaborate in the planning and implementation of whole-building literacy celebrations, family engagement opportunities, and incentives that align to the school’s Engagement Plan and Academic Model
- Active participation in required professional learning provided by CEN and/or selected strategic partners
- Attend meetings with the Principal, academic leaders, teachers, or families as requested
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Commitment to the belief that all students can learn and succeed
- A relentless work ethic and a high degree of patience to push through difficult challenges
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in education or equivalent; advanced degree in reading, literacy, and/or the science of reading strongly preferred
- Minimum of three consecutive years of successful reading teaching as evidenced by student data
- Demonstrated success in providing small group and individual instruction to students preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; high attention to detail
- Proficient in use of technology, including Google Suite
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teams of teachers and instructional leaders
- Desire and humility to continually grow and improve as an educator
- Will successfully pass a criminal background check
