Position Summary
The R&D Technician is responsible for driving product innovation through the research and development of products that align our capabilities with new and developing market and consumer trends.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and prepare product samples that meet or exceed our customers’ expectations
- Procure and track supplier samples necessary for R&D
- Obtain pricing, minimum order quantities (MOQs) and lead times for new raw materials Conduct A-B testing to analyze the quality of products
- Prepare new supplier & new raw material documents for Food Safety Team review
- Monitor and maintain the R&D Schedule and/or Priority Log
- Follow the New Product Launch (NPL) process & maintain associated logs
- Complete NPL documents accurately on schedule
- Conduct taste tests according to process to ensure traceability
- Ensure all R&D documents are document controlled at all times
- Keep inventory of raw material samples and R&D retains organized
- Understand and comply with appropriate Food Safety & Quality Program responsibilities
- Work safely & efficiently in accordance defined policies, standard work or standard operating procedures.
- Communicate department issues/roadblocks in daily department meeting
- Contribute to company Innovation Plan
- Contribute to company social media content
- Travel (as necessary) to trade shows
- Assist FSQA with finished product quality testing (test baking) and other duties.
- Work in a way that aligns with company values/principles and vision.
- Monitor and understand industry & market trends (through websites, newsletters, trade events, etc.) and ensure product innovation aligns with those trends

Education and Experience, Required:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Education and Experience, Desired:
Background in Food Science or Product Development preferred

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
