Duties and Responsibilities:
Operates production equipment to produce products in accordance with productions needs.
Produces assigned products in accordance with verbal and written instructions.
Completed equipment set-up in accordance with customer specification and procedures.
Records length of time and quantity of materials used for each job.
inspects parts and documents findings on appropriate paperwork as needed.
Maintains work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner to include returning tools to designated areas.
Adheres to established policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.
Notifies management of product discrepancies, equipment malfunctions and / or personal injuries.
Must follow lifting techniques as outlined on the safety manual.
Operates forklift, electric and / or manual pallet jack when necessary. (Training and licensing offered on site)
Wears personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Abilities:
Oral and written communication skills.
Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation.
Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
Minimum of 2 years verified work experience in wood products manufacturing.
Education and experience:
At least two years of related experience required.
OSHA 10 certification (preferred).
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Completion of on the job training maybe substituted for educational requirements.
Physical requirements and work environment:
manufacture work environment. Associates continually works near moving machinery and is regularly exposed to vibration and moderate to high noise levels. The working environment includes exposure to outdoor elements, congested, high traffic areas, and slippery floors, stairs, and walkways. Some duties are performed in the warehouse will require to be done in varying climates.
Standing for extended periods of time bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting, and walking.
Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, annd inspect parts produced.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to reach overhead.
Select and place product on a pallet.
