Lincoln Contracting is seeking experienced fabricators. We specialize in construction and custom welding and fabrication. Experience with structural steel and plate work preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Other job-related duties may be assigned in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Safely perform duties, always wearing the required PPE

Connects cables from the welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, as specified by training or foreman.

Starts the power supply to produce an electric current.

Cleans or degreases weld joints or workpieces.

Prepares objects for welding by grinding surfaces.

Positions and clamps work pieces together or assemble them in a jig or fixture. Fit up simple assemblies

Preheat the workpiece if/when required.

Strikes (forms) arc to melt and deposit metal from electrode to workpiece and join edges of the workpiece.

Manually guides gun along weld line, maintaining the length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead.

Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.

Chips off excess weld, slag, and spatter.

Set up and adjust the welder, and perform routine maintenance such as replacing spools of wire & changing outlines.

Safely operate all lifting devices such as overhead & jib cranes and fork trucks when authorized & adequately trained.
Education or Experience
- Vocational/technical training needed or a high school diploma or general education degree with work experience in an industrial setting.
