Job Description:
Torch is seeking a Senior Analyst/Systems Engineer to review and analyze test data results in support of multiple Army Air and Missile Defense simulations. As part of a Systems Engineering and Analysis Team, analysist will work in a dynamic environment where they will apply their engineering knowledge and experience to meet new and different challenges head-on. Candidates must work well in a fast-paced, collaborative, team environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Analysis will include all aspects of Air and Missile Defense including surveillance and fire control sensors, target tracking and extrapolation algorithms, fire control algorithms, and battle management algorithms. Analysis will require significant expertise in all or some of the following: advanced data mining, analytics, data structures, data storage, data warehousing, statistical analysis, data querying & interpolation, database, serialization, analyzing complex data set, working with unstructured datasets. Software development activities include: the creation, maintenance, and debugging of analysis tools for aiding in the visualization, interpretation, and presentation of simulation results. It is essential the candidate be a team player capable of integrating with a collaborative multi-contractor/government work environment as well as be able to perform independently on assigned tasks.
- Develop analysis plans and methods in support of test requirements.
- Analyze test data and assist in determining success of test metrics.
- Use analytical tools to verify system/component performance to design requirements.
- Use analytical tools to validate simulation models to real-world data.
- Create documentation and/or present analysis findings and recommendations to the team and customer.
- Provide input on needed software changes as indicated by analysis.
Required Skills/Experience
- Master’s degree in computer science, a related field or equivalent experience.
- 15 or more years of applicable progressively complex software design engineering experience.
- Experience developing data analysis and visualization tools suitable for analyzing system and subsystem performance of missile defense systems
- Significant experience with some or all of the following:
- Interceptor missile technologies including IR and RF seeker designs and signal processing,
- Guidance and control algorithms, navigation technologies, aerodynamics, mass properties, rocket motor technology, and control system technologies.
- Skilled in object-oriented design and programing (C++ or Python is preferred)
- Experience with Linux environments.
- Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word,)
- Analysis of simulation and live mission data,
- Ability to read and understand design documents and Interface Control Diagrams (ICDs),
- Preparing and publishing reports/documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have ability to present extremely complex issues in ways that are understandable by industry and government management.
- Candidate must be comfortable working in a multi-contractor/government seamless environment.
- Experience leading technical teams and facilitating teamwork
- Experience mentoring and passionate about helping others.
U.S. Citizenship Required for this Position.
