Large, national real estate development and investment company headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona is looking for a high performing Senior Accountant to join their high performing accounting and finance team. 2+ years of public accounting experience is strongly preferred, along with a desire to make the real estate industry their career focus for many years, and to be promoted to managerial/ executive level within the organization.
Responsibilities
As Senior Accountant, you will report directly to a Division Controller:
● Your responsibilities will include maintaining company records in accordance with GAAP. You will provide reliable data and analysis to be used in decision-making and planning.
● You will prepare accurate monthly financial reports, assist in the preparation of presentations that provide thoughtful analysis, identify action items, and effectively frame decisions that need to be made.
● Build and manage project level reports and analyses using Microsoft Excel.
● Partner directly with the finance team to collaborate on metrics, goals, and business reviews.
● Dive deeply into financial data and become a subject matter expert to provide additional insights.
● Create presentations that provide insightful analysis, identify required action items, and effectively frame decisions to be made.
● Identify and research variances to forecast, budget, and prior-year expenses, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
● Develop and maintain effective relationships with business partners and cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization
● Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
● Bachelor’s degree and more than 2 years of experience in corporate accounting or a related area
● General knowledge of accounting/financial/operational principles
● Experience developing financial reports and metrics
● Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels
● Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment
● Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
● Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture
● Demonstrated ability to influence others through effective verbal and written communication
● Prior Real Estate industry experience is a plus, including percentage of completion and deferred revenue accounting

Compensation will be dependent upon degree of fit and experience, but salary is expected to be in the $80k - $120k range, plus bonus, and excellent benefits.
