Coordinator, Member Services (Ops)
PURPOSE Serve the Membership, Education, Market Research and Councils (MERC) teams to execute marketing, communications, graphics, and publishing deliverables. Provide support to stakeholders in their efforts to lead and manage programs, projects, events, and resources with each “MERC” sub-division.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY
1. Be knowledgeable on all member benefits, programs and services offered by the association.
2. Coordinate all marketing content for MERC teams, including but not limited to: a. Execute marketing deliverables according to marketing plans. b. Execute marketing deliverables for in-person events such as signage and promotional collateral. c. Submit all marketing work orders on behalf of the department to coordinate e-Blasts, graphics, web updates, paid media, virtual event registration, full marketing campaigns, member updates and video uploads. d. Work with program stakeholders and Marketing Team to develop the departments’ editorial calendar and schedule content delivery according to the deadlines. e. As necessary, serve as the liaison with SEMA vendors who assist with marketing, web, and social media content development.
3. Assist internal stakeholders and MERC Ops Team in hosting and producing virtual events. a. Be knowledgeable about various virtual platforms and their capabilities and advise stakeholders of the best platform for their virtual event based on their goals. b. Set up virtual event registration pages, practice sessions and distribute platform links to all stakeholders, presenters, and speakers. c. Assist stakeholders, presenters, and speakers in conducting pre-event testing (e.g., audio, web cam functionality, etc.) and day-of support to deliver virtual content.
4. Support the department and association outreach efforts at events/shows, as needed.
5. Assist in MERC department in-person event setup and staffing as needed.
6. Assist in answering the main association customer service phone line and as requested, assist with SEMA front desk coverage.
7. As requested, provide administrative support.
RELATIONSHIPS
1. Reports to Byron Bergmann, Project Manager, Member Services.
2. Also works closely with MERC Operations team and Marketing team.
3. Interface with all departments.
4. Interfaces with association members and prospective members
PRIMARY SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
1. Team player who is willing to embrace new ideas and demonstrate an ability to change and grow as required by the position.
2. 4-year college degree with a strong background in communications or event production preferred.
3. Demonstrated proficiency in all Microsoft Office software and strong willingness to learn new software programs is required.
4. Process all external and internal requests within provided deadlines during weekdays.
5. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the capacity to connect across all levels of the organization.
6. Travel requirements up to 10%.
