Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled CNC Set-Up Operator to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to set-up and operate CNC machines to produce high-quality precision parts according to specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Set up CNC machines, including loading programs, selecting tools, and configuring machine parameters in preparation for production.
- Operate CNC machines to perform machining operations such as drilling, turning, milling, or grinding.
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work/job orders to determine machining requirements.
- Load raw materials into the machine and secure them properly.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
- Make necessary adjustments to machine settings and tooling to maintain optimal performance and achieve desired results.
- Inspect finished parts for quality using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines.
- Troubleshoot any issues that arise during operation.
- Maintain fixturing and tooling.
- Collaborate with team members, including programmers and engineers, to optimize processes and resolve production challenges.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Document and maintain accurate records and logs of machine set-ups, production runs, and quality checks.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A technical degree or certification in machining is a plus.
- 2-5 yrs. experience as a CNC Set-Up/CNC Operator or similar role preferred.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming and operation, familiarity with G-Code and CNC machine controls
- Computer skills and usage required.
- Proficient in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machine malfunctions.
