South Bay Design Center is the premier Kitchen & Bathroom remodeling company servicing the South Bay. We have undergone a major expansion and are looking for a Full-time or Part-time full-charge seasoned bookkeeper to record all financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. Applicants must be an expert with QuickBooks, reliable and extremely thorough. You will be part of a dynamic team that is committed to providing outstanding customer service in a state-of-the-art showroom/office setting.
Responsibilities:
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process
- Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, supplier ledger, customer ledger and general ledger
- Bring the books to the trial balance stage
- Perform partial checks of the posting process
- Complete all tax forms and documentation
- Enter data, maintain records and financial statements
- Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll (ADP) in a timely manner
- Maintain and balances general ledger and all subsidiary accounts
- Maintain historical records by filing documents
- Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
- Administrative duties and office tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- 7+ years proven bookkeeping experience -home improvement, construction or related field preferred
- Must be Proficient in QuickBooks - (Contractor's Edition preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Customer service oriented
- Self-motivated, energetic and a quick learner
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Dependable, organized and personable
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Proficiency in English
- Construction Experience is a plus
