Work in the Research Morphology Core Facility, which is a histology and electron microscopy core facility serving the entire campus community. Duties include accessioning clients' work, preparing the tissue for paraffin processing or freezing, embedding tissue, cutting both paraffin and frozen sections and staining. Duties include making complex buffers and cell culture media and plates using sterile technique, general lab maintenance including washing lab glassware, and conducting radioactive swipe tests.
Independently collect dirty glassware and plasticware from campus laboratories. Wash the glassware, prepare it for sterilization, and then use an autoclave to sterilize it. Restock shelves, drawers, and cupboards with clean, dry glassware. Additionally, make LB plates/media and perform any other assigned duties
Note: This position requires a physical/health screening.
