Position Summary
At Otis, our housekeeping team is a vital part of our guest’s experience. Acting as the creators of delight for our guest’s first room impression, our housekeeping team ensures all in-room needs are not just met, but exceeded beyond expectation. Making every space at Otis clean, inviting and relaxing. Helping contribute to a memorable and positive guest experience, our housekeeping team leads the sensory engagement of the hotel property, ensuring cleanliness, functionality, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
Hospitality & Brand Experience
- Shows hospitality and engagement to all guests on site
- Anticipates guests needs or wants by understanding key details within their room requests or routines and capturing preferences when needed in guest books.
Daily Operations
- Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other spaces.
- Moves/arranges furniture and dusts/polishes furniture, metalwork and equipment
- Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors, using brooms and mops and powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
- Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaner.
- Collects soiled linens for laundering and receives and stores linen supplies in linen closet.
- Cleans bathrooms and replenishes with supplies.
- Refurnishes room with supplies, towels etc. as required. Supplies cleaning cart with appropriate supplies for shift.
- Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork; washes windows, door panels, and sills.
- Empties wastebaskets. Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
- Collects and returns laundry to the correct area of the hotel on a regular basis, and stores back of house inventory of towels and linens neatly and to SOP.
- Proactively identifies opportunities & takes initiative to continuously improve visual standards.
- Ensures spaces are organized to prioritizes the efficiency & effectiveness of guest & employee experiences.
- Prioritizes the safety & security of all guests & employees.
Experience
- 2+ years housekeeping experience
- Ability to sit or stand for prolong periods of time and walk extensive distances to perform routine work
- Able to lift or carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to kneel and/or stoop repeatedly as well as reach in any direction
- Can work in the outdoors and near common cleaning chemicals
- Self-starter, proactively identifies opportunities within guest experience and team support needs.
- Exceptional attention to detail, efficiency & effectiveness with completing duties.
- Strong work-ethic & performs duties with care.
