Job Title: Interior Designer
Job Overview:
To be the main point of contact for Dahlgren Duck OSE&E and FF&E design and/or procurement residential clients and oversee all members of project teams dedicated to the successful delivery of turn-key projects – on time and on budget. Responsible for organizing and managing all tasks and resources necessary to initiate, carry out and bring to completion interior design and/or procurement projects for a wide variety of new and existing clients – both domestic and international. Consistently maintain open and clear communication with all team members to ensure all standard procedures are being followed to maximize the efficiency of the process as a whole as well as individual team member responsibilities. Must have a deep and broad understanding of the management of interior projects and the home furnishings industry.
Responsibilities:
- Present potential clients with an explanation of DDA and project processes/steps.
- Prepare and convey contract documents including project budgets, draw schedules and agreements.
- Assemble project team for each project with clearly defined parameters around project scope and timelines.
- Receive specifications from internal or external designer.
- Create Specifications, obtain pricing, issue Order Acknowledgements, input Purchase Orders with vendors and conduct statusing to ensure the project is on track for target installation date
- Install projects - some travel is required
- Manage Vendor Submittals (i.e. Cuttings, Shop Drawings, Strike-offs, etc.) to ensure timely completion of fabrication/production.
- Work closely with accounting on invoicing.
Requirements:
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field.
- Strong understanding of interior design principles and practices.
- Experience in sales or client-facing roles is a plus.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients and team members.
- Creative thinking with attention to detail.
- Powerpoint, MS Office, Excel knowledge a must
- Design Manager knowledge a plus!!!
- Ability to utilize Autocad to create floor plans as needed - case by case basis
