JOB OBJECTIVE:
The Mfg. Maintenance Technician will perform various tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. They will install and inspect machines and electrical equipment and carry out preventive maintenance to ensure industrial machines remain operational. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
- Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
- Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
- Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies.
- Trains production workers on routine preventive maintenance.
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Requisitions supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associates degree or technical school training preferred.
- 5+ years of related mechanic experience working in a manufacturing setting is highly preferred.
- Ability to operate machinery and technical equipment. In depth knowledge of system maintenance.
- Able to follow instructions from supervisors.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations.
- Excellent organizational and time management.
- Good communication, basic computer, and reporting writing skills.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Must be physically able to climb, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
- Must be able to lift and move heavy equipment.
