Pier of D'Nort is seeking a Welder to join our team! The aluminum MIG welder must be proficient in Layout, Tacking, Welding, Grinding and Finishing. Constantly checking the quality of own work, making adjustments, as necessary. Produce product, perform general maintenance, and complete projects as directed.
Responsibilities:
- Read pier diagrams, work orders or production schedules to determine most efficient use of time while maintaining quality production.
- MIG aluminum welding to company standards
- Perform minor repairs and housekeeping to welding machine, replacing damaged or worn parts.
- Consistently meet or exceed management requirements and quotas.
- Recognize potential problems and develop immediate remedies to complete the job.
- Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
- Perform general building maintenance, snow removal and yard care.
- Work independently but still be a team player to all other members of the team.
- Complete special projects as assigned including helping other departments as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Communicate with others in a team effort and train other employees.
- Be thorough and attentive to detail in all job tasks and be proactive in improving quality workmanship in each product manufactured.
- Adapt to a changing work environment, competing demands and deal with frequent change, delays, and unexpected events.
- 2 years of welding experienced, preferred
- Weld proficiently, utilizing MIG and spot-welding techniques.
- Maintain 95% success rate of pier welds.
- Read specification plans and fabrication layout schedules.
- Perform hand grinding and polishing to a specific finish.
- Inspect material and utilize it to the maximum efficiency.
- Process material using hand grinders, drill presses, cutters, and other equipment.
- Operate small manual, battery, and electrical tools.
- Operate electric and propane forklifts.
- Successfully complete any training, safety program relating to the operation of the equipment.
- Above average mechanical aptitude and math skills, with emphasis on fractions and decimals.
- Read and use tape measures, caliper, and other measuring equipment.
- Follow instructions and direction.
- Reading and writing literacy required.
- Must be able to read and comprehend production orders and specifications.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment to meet team expectations.
- Understanding and support of company policies and procedures.
- Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations to perform the job.
Physical Requirements:
- Good manual dexterity, good eye/hand coordination.
- Capable of wearing PPE for an entire shift, including safety glasses when appropriate, hearing protection and comfortable closed toe shoes.
- Lift up to 75 lbs. routinely with the ability to bend, lift, sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
