Lead Sanitarian
$21.00 to $24.00
1st Shift 6:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday - Friday Possibility of Weekends.
The Lead Sanitarian’s primary responsibility is the oversight, development, implementation, and maintenance of facility sanitation program, policies, and procedures. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following principal duties.
1. Daily oversight of the Food Safety and Quality System (FSQS) requirements involving sanitation. 2. Maintenance and distribution of sanitation documents such as Sanitary Standard Operating Procedures (sSOPs), Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), and Process Equipment and Environmental Cleaning Schedules.
3. Responsible, in conjunction with the Quality Manager and Plant Manager, for the crewing, scheduling and completion of all sanitation items outlined under the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS). Perform MSS items as necessary.
4. Responsible, in conjunction with the Agglomerator Operator, for environmental and process equipment sanitation verification (e.g. Pre-Operational Inspections, PRO CLEAN Rapid Protein Residue Swabbing, Eb Swabbing, Chemical Concentration Monitoring, etc.).
5. Member of the Self Inspection Team (SIT). Actively participates in facility self-inspections. Responsible, in conjunction with Operations, for the completion of sanitation and pest control related Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) Forms generated from the Self Inspection Program.
6. Responsible for the compiling orders for and maintenance of plant GMP and Cleaning and Sanitation supplies.
7. Follow company policies, Safety Program, sSOP’s, GMPs and Food Safety (HACCP) procedures and regulatory requirements.
8. The requirements outlined in the Food Safety manual and Quality System are communicated at all levels within the organization. All employees are responsible for adhering to these standards. Employees are responsible for identifying and reporting issues that could affect food safety and quality.
9. Active participant in the Food Safety Team (FST). Responsible for assembling and reporting monthly Cleaning and Sanitation Key Performance Indicators.
10. Responsible, with support from Upper Management, for the continual education of company employees in cleaning and sanitation programs and procedures. Development of training modules pertaining to Cleaning and Sanitation policies.
11. Development, implementation, of sanitary standard operating procedures (sSOPs), Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), and Process Equipment and Environmental Cleaning Schedules
12. Actively participates in Customer Complaint investigation and resolution.
13. Actively participates in the development of cleaning validation studies for new and existing (as necessary) process equipment and environments.
14. Maintains relationships with third party sanitation service contract provider including, but not limited to, drafting proposals for new sanitation chemical and / or equipment methods and cost savings.
15. Trend and investigate analytical non-conformance monthly Cleaning and Sanitation Key Performance Indicators.
16. Actively participates in Customer, Regulatory, and Third-Party Audits.
17. Cleaning and janitorial duties as required on the MSS and as assigned.
18. Assist in all other duties as assigned General Requirements:
1. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software.
2. Must be a high school graduate
3. Minimum of two years’ experience in the Food or Pharma Industry
4. Sanitation documentation experience
5. GFSI Audit experience (BRC or SQF) a plus 6. HACCP/PCQI certification a plus 7.
