Job Summary: To manually pack spinning frame machines, inspect yarn packages off of assigned spinning frame machines, ensure packages are meeting quality standards. Then place yarn packages onto pallets for shipment once processed through APL.
Essential Job Duties:
- Manually pack the machines assigned
- Inspect each package for quality
- Pay attention to yarn sizes/small/medium/large/cotton
- Do not place any yarn packages with wild yarn, no tails, picked, dirty or cut, and/or any packages that are not deemed first quality onto a first quality/good yarn pallet
- Learn all tube colors and what tube color and yarn count each machine you're responsible for is running
- Inspect each pallet and/or yarn case for the correct yarn ID. Compare the tube color to signage on frame packages came off of
- Pallets will be audited to correctness; low inspection scores are unacceptable
- Bring pallets to the APL line for processing if APL operator is running behind using TCI tugger set-up to haul pallets
- Each packer is responsible in bringing any rejected packages to rework area behind conditioner and correct packages that came from work day
- Packages that do not fall under quality standards are to be reworked on yarn reel and/or put on Q6 pallet if beyond repairable
- Fill tube elevators on assigned machines
- Make sure to restock tubes and pallet parts for next shift before leaving
- Sweep/pick up work area to maintain a high level of housekeeping
- Perform any other duties assigned by your supervisor
