We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our primary/urgent care team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, assisting healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate should be proficient in various clinical tasks, including phlebotomy, EKG, and general medical assisting duties.
Responsibilities:
- Perform phlebotomy procedures to collect blood specimens for diagnostic testing.
- Conduct electrocardiograms (EKGs).
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Take patient vital signs and record medical histories.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure cleanliness and organization.
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and updating patient records.
- Educate patients on procedures, medications, and post-treatment care as directed by healthcare providers.
- Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant(e.g., CMA, RMA) preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience in a primary care, urgent care, or similar clinical setting preferred.
- Proficiency in phlebotomy and conducting EKGs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
- Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) systems - knowledge in eClinicalWorks is a plus!
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Hours:
