What you'll do
The Bike Mechanic will be primarily responsible for the maintenance of the Horseshoe Canyon Ranch eMTB rental fleet. The Bike Mechanic is a critical component to the success of the Ranch; ensuring high levels of quality customer service and serving as a bike champion to the organization. The Bike Mechanic reports directly to the Bike Program Manager.
Pay: Commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities
- Performing scheduled and non-scheduled service and maintenance of the bike inventory.
- Ensuring all aspects of operational quality and safety of Ranch bicycle fleet. This includes new bike assembly, maintenance, and cleaning.
- Maintenance may include, but is not limited to, bearing adjustments, brake bleeding, suspension service, wheel truing, drivetrain overhauls, cable/housing replacement, and bar wrapping.
- Recording time, materials and parts required for each assignment.
- Adhering to Bike Program budget; provide quotes on expenses and parts needed.
- Maintaining inventory of parts used/needed and allocate appropriately.
- Maintaining an organized and efficient service area.
- In Partnership with the Bike Program Manager, assisting in organization of bike reservations and availability.
- Proactively identify issues with bicycles and their performance; assist with one-on-one maintenance issues, as needed.
- Encouraging and supporting all efforts to cultivate a bike-friendly identity for Horseshoe Canyon Ranch and related Ropeswing and Runway organizations, as well as for Jasper and other communities.
- Assisting in trail maintenance, as needed.
- Learning, understanding, and adhering to company policy, programs, and standards.
- Performing other tasks assigned by management
What You Need to Get the Job Done
- Minimum 2 years’ experience and advanced technical knowledge of bicycle maintenance in a bike shop as a mechanic
- Fluent in suspension maintenance, diagnosis, and repair
- BRM (rental platform) experience
- Ability to work with computers, cellphones, and relevant business systems to track work orders and inventory
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated team player and communication skills
- Organizational skills (workspace management)
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Ability to problem solve in a fast paced, evolving department
- Ability to complete satisfactory background and motor-vehicle check
