Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Engineer will perform routine, entry-level engineering tasks under the direct supervision of a senior engineer with the goal of developing more advanced applied engineering skills. This position requires strong analytical skills and an ability to interact with both the hourly workforce and plant management on a daily basis to identify opportunities for and implement actions to continuously improve existing production processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provides general, entry-level support to the engineering department.
· Verifies and tests assigned metrics on projects.
· Records test results and analyze data using Excel/Minitab
· Capable of organizing data and writing well laid out reports
· Identifies potential areas of product improvement; recommends and assists with development of appropriate solutions using approved facility methods (i.e. PMF, MOC)
· Ensures compliance with applicable company and client quality requirements in all assigned programs, functions, products, and areas.
· Maintain accurate documentation for departments (procedures, forms, work instructions)
· Assist with customer complaints involving investigations into root causes and corrective actions.
· Identifies and reports problems with specific processes or products to senior engineers.
· Assists senior engineers in the development of new methods to improve product quality and process efficacy and efficiency.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
· Closely work with R&D, production, on development and improvement projects.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to comprehend and follow directions.
· Basic understanding of quality systems (e.g., ISO-9000).
· Proficient with MS Office, Minitab, Auto CAD desired
· Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
· Internship in related field highly desired.
· Experience using a database or equivalent highly desired.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Prolonged periods of standing monitoring or auditing a process.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
· Must be able to work in a chemical plant environment, climb stairs and continuous walking.
· Must be able to travel to various job sites and traverse locations to obtain necessary data.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
· Less than 10% travel
