Nurse Manager
The Nurse Manager provides leadership for a team of nurses and nurse support staff. This includes establishing a professional relationship, helping to resolve clinical and administrative issues as they arise, giving feedback on performance and facilitating an atmosphere in which excellence in client care is provided. The Nurse Manager provides clinical care to clients.
Schedule:
- Full Time, 1.0 FTE (40hrs/wk), generally working Monday through Friday 8:00 - 5:00pm.
- Will be expected to have presence and connection with all staff on all shifts as needed, so schedule will need to be flexible depending on site and team needs.
- Part of Site Leadership weekend on call rotation, approximately 1 weekend per month.
Compensation Range:
Nurse Manager: $112,014/yr - $173,628/yr
Final compensation offered will be within pay range based on qualifications/experience met for position.
How Nurse Manager's Empower Recovery
- Coach and mentor nursing staff at the site and ensure accuracy and quality of care are provided
- Conduct performance reviews, including formal annual reviews and informal touch bases throughout the year
- Ensure proper training of all new nurses
- Train Lead Nurse on managerial responsibilities and tasks
- Collaborate with VP of Nursing in the implementation of new policies and procedures for the program and site
- Collaborate with the Site Director and site leaders on day to day nursing staffing issues and unfilled shifts and site needs
- Provide client care, assesses and treats health concerns appropriately
- Assist medical and psychiatric providers with information regarding examinations, tests, procedures, and care
- Administer medication under the direction of provider as well as provide education to clients. Monitor for side effects and efficacy in collaboration with provider
- Provide care coordination between patient and the physician, staff, family, and outside care agencies as needed
- Serve as a medical resource for staff
- Participate in case management as part of the client treatment team
- Provide behavioral support and crisis prevention and management
- Collaborate with site leadership regarding milieu management
- Participate in rotation of on call duties
- Interview and hire nurses, certified nurse assistants II, and certified medical assistants
- Partner with nursing leadership to ensure competencies for nursing staff are completed upon hire, annually, and additionally as needed
- Monitor documentation for adherence to nursing SOPs
- Collaborate with Compliance, Site Director and Medical Leaders to ensure infection control goals are met
- Assist with patient transportation for appointments, outings, and other off-site needs and activities as needed
- Complete payroll and timecard audits
- Review all nursing related incident reports and provide follow-up
- Capability to work in staffing as needed (may provide extra support for the scheduled team and/or be asked to work the floor during staffing gaps)
- Participate in community meetings with patients
- Respond to parent and patient concerns about nursing staff interactions as needed
- Ensure that required audits in nursing department are completed
- Work flexible hours to manage emergencies
- Lead required meetings, to include:
- Monthly 1:1 meetings with individual nursing staff
- Weekly meetings with Lead Nurse(s)
- Monthly meetings with nursing staff
- Apply evidence-based nursing practices and standards
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited course of study in nursing
- Licensed as an RN in the state of employment (can include interstate compact agreements)
- Must have leadership and/or management experience
- Must have valid driver’s license in the state of employment
- Current Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association) within 30 days from date of hire
- Washington State Food and Beverage Service Worker’s Permit obtained within 14 days of employment

- Holidays: Employees not working at a residential or inpatient facility are eligible for 7 paid holidays and 1 floating holiday Non-exempt employees working at a residential or inpatient facility will receive premium pay at a rate of double time if they are scheduled and work on one of ten designated holidays.
- Employees hired on or after February 20, 2022, will receive premium pay at a rate of time and-a-half if scheduled and work on one of ten designated holidays.
- Exempt employees working at a residential or inpatient facility who are scheduled to work on a holiday may take the holiday on a different day during the same pay period. Additionally, non-exempt employees are eligible for various shift and weekend differentials.
