Laboratory Technician (10am-6:30pm)
Summary:
This position reports to the Laboratory Manager. The tasks of this individual will include, but is not limited to:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct all login procedures, both manual and electronic, of samples delivered to the laboratory, ensuring proper labeling and paperwork.

Sub-sample a variety of waste materials, process and product samples and follow proper analytical methods required for compliance in accordance with established guidelines and training.

Conduct sample analysis on sub-samples per methods and procedures established by training and knowledge of analysis plans. Conducts QA/QC sample analysis and calibrations.

Ensure proper written and electronic documentation of all test results prior to approval and completeness of summarizing data. Notifies appropriate supervision or staff member of completed analysis.

Prepare reagent solutions, standards and other laboratory solutions as directed by supervisor or lead technician per guidance and training.

Maintenance of analytical equipment and documents in accordance with quality assurance and control compliance.

Perform periodic audits of analytical logs and data to ensure regulatory compliance for completeness and accuracy.

Perform lab housekeeping and sample management duties to ensure a clean and safe work area.

Label lab waste containers and properly dispose of lab waste per established guidelines.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:

High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required

Associate’s degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent laboratory work experience preferred

Prior laboratory work experience preferred
Experience with the following instruments/tests preferred:

Gas Chromatography (GC)
-
Karl Fischer Titration (KF)
-
pH Determination
-
Flash Point Determination
-
Specific Gravity (SPGR)
-
Bomb Calorimetry
-
Halogen Titrations
Requirements:
-
Must be able to pass medical examination and pre-employment drug screening.
-
DOT, RCRA, and HAZCOM training is a plus, but not required for employment. Training will be provided annually to all employees.
