The Senior Accountant provides administrative and clerical support to the Accounting department. The daily activities of this role include supporting the Accounting department in conjunction with the issuance of period SEC filings, preparing journal entries and schedules for monthly/quarterly end closing, assisting in the contract review process, and any ad-hoc projects.
This role is hybrid and will require a combination of remote and in office work at our HQ- Coral Gables FL location.
Responsibilities:-
Collaborate with the Accounting department in preparing and reviewing periodic filings, including 10 Ks and 10Qs, to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Assist in monthly, quarterly and annual close processes and ensure that all transactions are recorded in a timely manner and in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) by preparing supporting schedules and journal entries

Process information accurately into accounting software

Assist in preparation or review of monthly, quarterly and annual close processes primarily focused on revenue, prepaids and accruals.

Assist in the review of contracts to assess financial implications and ensure alignment with accounting standards and company policies.

Monitor and ensure compliance with Catalyst's accounting policies and internal control procedures. Participate in internal control audits and provide support during quarterly and annual reviews to maintain compliance with regulatory standards

Provide support as requested during quarterly and annual reviews and internal control audit

Stay updated on accounting regulations, standards, and industry best practices through ongoing learning and professional development activities. Pursue relevant certifications or training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in accounting and finance.

Perform ad hoc projects as assigned by supervisors, which may involve financial analysis, research, or other tasks to support business objectives and decision-making processes.
Education/Experience/Skills:-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar field from an accredited college or university

A minimum of 3-5 years relevant accounting/financial experience

Knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains software or similar ERP system preferred

Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
