Connec-to-Talk is looking for a full-time Payroll Specialist/Bookkeeper to join our Admin team! Primarily remote with occasional in person meetings at one of our CT locations (Danbury or Wilton, CT). Ideal candidate will have previous Bookkeeping experience utilizing Quickbooks or similar software. Previous multi-state payroll experience desirable.
Connec-to-Talk is a privately-owned premier provider of ABA therapy anchored in 20+ years of experience with clinics and in home clients currently located in Connecticut, Maryland, and South Carolina.
Summary:
The Bookkeeper/Payroll Specialist will play a critical role in maintaining our financial records, including managing accounts payable, processing payroll, handling staff expense reimbursements, performing reconciliations, and preparing financial reports. This position requires a thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and excellent organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions.
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll laws.
- Handle payroll deductions, benefits administration, and garnishments.
- Review and process employee expense reports.
- Ensure all employee expenses comply with company policies.
- Verify receipts and proper documentation for all reimbursements.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts monthly.
- Maintain accurate and updated general ledger accounts.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in general ledger accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Provide detailed reports on financial status and forecasts.
- Collaborate with the administrative team to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Ensure all financial practices adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Special projects and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or a similar role.
Competencies & Behaviors
- Excellent written/verbal communication, time management, problem solving, organizational abilities and a strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks preferred) and G Suite/Google Workspace.
- Strong understanding of and ability to apply GAAP.
- Ability to uphold a positive and professional image at all times.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as in collaboration on a team.
- Ability to protect privacy and confidentiality with a high level of tact in handling sensitive information.
Physical Requirements
