Position Title: Cancer Care Coordinator
Reports to: Director of Operations-Urology

Position Summary: A cancer care coordinator is a health care professional who helps cancer patients, and their families navigate the complex and often overwhelming process of diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care. This compassionate person will make a difference in the quality of care and the patient experience for people facing cancer.

· Gather information to chart prep for the patient visit.
· Coordinating appointments, tests, procedures, and referrals is the primary point of contact.
· Communicating with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other members of the cancer care team and our practice.
· Advocating for patients’ needs and preferences.
· Other essential duties as deemed necessary.

Education/Experience:
· High School graduate or equivalent required
· Minimum of three years of direct patient care
· Medical Assistant Certificate required.
· Clinical experience in oncology or cancer care preferred.
· Knowledge of cancer diagnosis, treatment, and follow up care.

Physical Demands:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Prolonged periods of standing for presentations and/or other reasons.
· Employees are regularly required to sit, stand, and walk; use fingers to handle and feel and to reach with hands and arms.
· Must be able to lift or move up to 15 lbs. at times, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
· The employee is occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and balance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $23.50 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
