Under the supervision of the Manager of Housing Services , the Housing Coordinator guides a team of Housing Specialists over multiple counties within Region 5 . This position will also carry a caseload and along with the Housing Specialists, will work on assisting individuals in regaining control over their own lives, while promoting the recovery process.
Housing Coordinators will assist individuals will receive assistance in attaining safe and affordable housing and working towards the goal of sustaining independent living supports. The Housing Coordinator will monitor and facilitate the overall goal of Housing Specialists who promote community integration by focusing on independent living and immediate access to a housing subsidy.
Psychiatric rehabilitation interventions are utilized to work on goal attainment by providing skills training, education and case management to individuals who are currently residing in an independent living setting provided by Georgia Housing Voucher Program (GHVP), Housing Choice Voucher (HCV), etc.
The Coordinator of Housing Services oversees day-to-day operations of the team of Housing Specialists in their designated area of Valdosta, Thomasville, Albany, or Savanah areas. ensuring timely, accurate documentation of the individual’s course of care. The Housing Coordinator monitors the Individuals’ progress towards established goals by promoting and coordinating overall care among all team members.
Housing Coordinator must be able to work independently, communicate effectively and professionally. The Housing Coordinator will work closely with stakeholders such as landlords.

- Highschool diploma/GED required, bachelor’s degree preferred in a field of human services or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in related field
- Valid Georgia driver’s license.
- Para-Professional Training within the first 30 days of employment required
- Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) certification is preferred
- Previous experience working with homeless services is preferred.
Working Conditions - work is normally performed in an office environment. Employees in this position may be exposed to viruses, disease and infection from persons served or the working environment. Must be physically and emotionally fit to work in a stress-filled environment to meet deadlines.
Physical Demands – the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: the physical demands include but are not limited to good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard. The position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, intermittent physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping. Must have the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 20 pounds.
