- Responsible for overseeing the assigned WIC Food and Nutrition Center's daily operation in the absence of the Center Director, including ensuring opening and closing procedures are followed, monitoring, and maintaining inventory, and promoting positive customer service and vendor relationships
- Provide direct supervision to center staff, coach, support, evaluate performance and identify training and development needs
- Support sales and financial objectives by managing inventory control including ordering, receiving, distribution, returns, estimating future trends, and analyzing variances
- Assist in establishing a cooperative and productive relationship with tenants (co-located Catholic Charities Programs, WIC clinics, and Community Service Providers)
- Ensure clean, secure, and safe internal and external WIC Grocery Center environments. Timely entry and resolution of facility repairs and incident reporting; ensure employees follow best practices and safety protocols
- Delivers verbal and written communication to WIC Administrative leaders as requested; Ensure operation efficiency by completing administrative tasks including collecting, analyzing, and reporting information
- Collaborate with Center Director to create and implement a strategic plan to meet assigned center client and transaction goals, including building relationships with clients and community partners to support nutrition education
- Operate with minimal supervision in a day-to-day operation and consults with the supervisory chain in situations that may present a risk to the agency, including conflict resolution with customers, staff, or vendors
- Maintain accurate up-to-date files and data required by IDHS; Maintain agency programmatic policies, procedures, professional standards, and external requirements of all relevant regulatory, licensing, and/or accrediting bodies while performing job expectations
- Schedule flexibility to work all WIC Food and Nutrition Centers as needed; Availability on weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays is required
