JOB SUMMARY, DESCRIPTION & QUALIFICATIONS:
Job Summary
The College Store Assistant provides front-line customer services to students, staff, and the public. This position also supports the Student Engagement Manager and College Store & Course Materials Coordinator by performing basic clerical functions. Weekly schedule is Monday through Friday with approximately 4 Saturday shifts required each year. Position hours vary based on business needs. Remote work is not available for this position.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully with or without reasonable accommodation.
Customer Service:
Assist in-store customers with purchases and returns
Make/Send and answer routine phone calls and emails and monitor departmental chat and social media accounts
Pull and process online orders accurately and using established processes
Merchandising:
Receive and inspect new merchandise
Merchandise new products and remerchandise on a regular basis
Monitor inventory levels and prepare/place routine and special product orders
Ensure store and stockroom are clean, organized, and all visual standards are met
Assist with merchandise promotions and markdowns
Entry of merchandise descriptions and upload of merchandise photos for store website
Clerical and Data Entry:
Provide general clerical support
Data entry and verification of item prices and purchasing documents
Perform basic information analysis and reporting
Perform filing and maintain data/information organization
Store Operations:
Open and close store
Prepare daily deposits and change orders
Order store supplies as needed
Assist with store and campus events
Monitor work of student employees and provide coaching/feedback
Accounting Support:
Data entry of routine student authorization forms
Data entry of vendor invoices
View accounts receivable invoices and answer basic customer questions
Verification of student eligibility for accounts receivable purchases
Provide support for Student Engagement Manager and College Store & Course Materials Coordinator as needed

Minimum Qualifications Required
