Registered Nurse Job Summary
We are looking for a capable and self-assured Registered Nurse to join our private, nationally-accredited ambulatory surgery center team in Morganton, NC. Our ideal candidate is a team-player who can complete tasks and deliver quality patient care with a high degree of accuracy and compassion in a fast-paced environment. Duties are highly variable, and the successful candidate must be alert, attentive and able to maintain the operating room pace.
This is a full-time position with no weekends, evenings, or holidays. Benefits including dental, life, and disability plans, along with partially funded health insurance, and 401(k) plan. Competitive salary.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Admittance and preoperative assessment of surgical patients
- Circulating within the operating room
- Monitoring of patient vital signs after sedation and during operative procedures
- Evaluation and discharge of postoperative patients
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work as a team and to coordinate tasks and actions with team members
- Must possess excellent communication and active listening skills
- Concise communication with patients, teammates and surgeons to ensure continuity of care
- Must be highly organized with a keen attention to detail
- Must remain calm and have a considerate and empathetic demeanor
- Ability to problem solving and apply critical thinking
- Must maintain discretion and confidentiality
- Adherence to all relevant health and safety standards
- Knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques
- Knowledge of surgical procedures
- Must possess excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills
- Able to monitor machines to ensure proper performance
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, reach, and twist
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull
Working Environment
- Privately-owned surgical suite with two operating rooms
- Fast-paced environment
- Occasional work within our clinical setting
- Position will include occasional travel to work in our out-patient center in Shelby, North Carolina
