Rate: $30-38 per hour (same rate is applied to drive time and all canceled appointments plus reimbursement for mileage)

Beyond Blindness is a one-stop support resource for these children, and their families, and provides services in clients’ homes, at its location in Santa Ana, and in schools throughout Orange County.
Position Summary
The Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position provides speech and language therapy to meet student’s communication needs under the supervision of a Licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP). Assists the department in specific therapy sessions as per client Individualized Education Plan (IEP)/Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). Provides direct and indirect services to specific age groups. May work in a classroom with groups or individuals.
Responsibilities
- Works in a supporting role alongside and under the direction of the SLP.
- Follows and implements documented treatment plans or protocols for a variety of speech and language impairments developed by the supervising SLP and supporting the student's IEP/IFSP.
- Writes daily soap notes and documents progress toward meeting established child and family outcomes.
- Directs/leads speech groups in the classroom weekly.
- Participates in training, supervision and meetings as required.
- Assists SLP with assessments, preparing materials and performing clerical duties as needed.
- Maintains clinic and equipment.
- Maintains daily records and billing information.
- Treats clients, families and others with empathy and respect and conducts self in a professional manner.
- Establishes and maintains interpersonal relationships with teammates, community organizations, supervisors, and leadership.
- Complies with organizational guidelines and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
- Conducts self in accordance with Agency’s mission, vision, and values at all times.
- Work weekends and evenings as needed.
- Other professional, job-related duties as assigned.
Education
- Graduate from an accredited Speech Language Pathology Assistant Program
- State SLPA License (Must be current at all times)
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Experience
Experience working with young children with special needs population, preferred.

Licensing & Accreditation Requirements
All employees working for Beyond Blindness are required to meet the following at all times:
- LiveScan Fingerprint clearance and background check - DOJ/FBI/Child Abuse Index (one time or upon re-hire)
- Health Screening (one time or upon re-hire)
- Proof of immunity to Measles or MMR Vaccination Record (one time)
- Flu Vaccine within one year (and each year thereafter)
- TDAP Vaccine within last 10 years (and every 10 years thereafter)
- Current COVID-19 Vaccine (fully vaccinated)
- Clear TB test or Chest X-ray within last 4 years (and every 4 years thereafter)
- Current up-to-date Credential, License, Certification or Units for employment
