Purpose
Centennial Medical and First Call are looking for a High Complexity Lab Technician. The Clinical Laboratory Technician works independently, organizing work to meet deadlines and validating all data obtained. Technologist is capable to perform, with or without supervision, analysis and report release of patient sample. Technologists interacts extensively with other technologists and office staff. Technologist is competent in prioritizing workload accordingly and complete assigned tasks within the indicated timelines.
Qualifications
- Must have 1-2 years as Lab Tech (independent lab or hospital)
- Bachelor’s degree in a laboratory science is preferred
- Day shift - Rotating Shift
- Tuesday - Saturday 12:30pm - 9:00pm
- Monday - Friday from 12:30pm - 9:00pm
Position: Testing Personnel (Test Complexity: High)
Testing personnel are responsible for test performance, and for reporting test results, and should only perform those tests that are authorized by the laboratory director and that are within the individual’s skill level as determined by education, training or experience, and technical abilities. The responsibilities listed below encompass but are not limited to the description for clinical work in the laboratory setting.
Position Requirements:
- Prior work experience in a high complexity Clinical Laboratory, 6 months minimum
- PCR experience required; 6 months minimum
- Clinical Chemistry experience required; 6 months minimum
- Excellent work ethic
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Able to multitask effectively.
- Works well in a team environment
- Excellent computer skills, Microsoft Office applications
Position Responsibilities:
- Versed with all current high complexity laboratory SOPs.
- Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and test analyses and reporting.
- Maintain all necessary logs and QC documentation; instrument maintenance logs, daily QC run log and sample error log.
- Maintain records which demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are processed in the same manner as patient specimens.
- Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies and documenting all QC activities, instrument and procedural calibrations.
- Follow the laboratory’s policies whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s established acceptable levels of performance.
- Be able to identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either correct the problem or notify the General Supervisor.
- Maintains open communication with co-workers and management in all aspects of work-related tasks, when applicable.
