Requirements for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA):
- Certificate of completion for CNA program or active CNA certification in MA.
Job duties for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA):
- Deliver compassionate and comprehensive care to facility residents
- Assist nurses with their duties
- Ensure residents rights are respected and they are treated in a dignified manner
- Perform direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse and assist in maintaining a positive physical, social and psychological environment for the residents
- Provide nursing care to residents without violating resident’s rights
- Participate in facility education programs as assigned
- Demonstrate an attitude of cooperation and enthusiasm during instructions and in resident care activities
- Assume responsibility for following facility procedures related to control of equipment and supplies within the unit
- Assume accountability for compliance to federal, state and local regulations within the unit facility
- Report unusual problems or incidents to charge nurse or supervisor
- Demonstrate consistent ability to work cooperatively with co-workers residents, charge nurse, treatment nurses, other nurse assistants, physicians, families
- Report changes in residents’ conditions immediately to a supervisor
- Respond appropriately to the emotional well-being of others by listening attentively and taking follow-up action
- Comes to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrates dependability
- Follows and adheres to HIPPA Confidentiality Guidelines
