Position Summary: Under limited Supervision performs work requiring the use of judgment and discretion in making credit decisions for existing and new members seeking auto loans. Additionally, make marketing calls on dealerships to encourage them to send applications to Westmark, and continual monitoring and nurturing of relationships with Westmark partner dealerships. This is an experienced level position requiring additional skills in credit fundamentals, financial analysis and marketing/ interpersonal skills.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties:

Review Loan Applications and credit reports in Dealer Lending Software (LPQ)

Approve loans within established lending guidelines and authority

Communicate loan decisions to dealerships through LPQ software, e-mail, or telephone in a timely and professional manner

Complete all loan documentation and funding in an accurate and timely manner

Perform any and all duties as assigned by the DLC Manager

Ability to accept constructive criticism, guidance, and direction from DLC Manager and other managers

Requirements:
Required Knowledge and Abilities:
-
Thorough understanding of Westmark’s lending policies and procedures, credit underwriting standards and credit grading
-
Working knowledge of Lender Advantage and LPQ.

General knowledge of Westmark’s loan and share products and all services
-
Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal relationship skills
-
Mathematical skills commensurate with lending needs
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Successful completion of the FSR training program with 6 or more months experience in lending at Westmark; OR other loan officer/lending training with one or more years of experience at another financial institution; OR a combination of relevant credit union and lending background or experience

Bachelor’s Degree in a financially related field or; a high school diploma and a minimum of one year of relevant banking or credit union experience; or a combination of formal education, training and applicable experience
