Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Home Automation and Network Engineer for a high-net-worth family office to manage and maintain sophisticated home automation and security systems across multiple luxury properties. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring seamless integration and functionality of various systems including Savant, Lutron, Crestron, advanced security systems, and complex network infrastructures. This role demands a proactive approach to maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting, with a focus on delivering an exceptional experience for the residents and guests.
Location: Based in Miami, FL with frequent travel to various properties including New York, West Virginia, Hawaii, and others
Job Type: Full-time, On-call 24/7
Responsibilities:
- Design, program, and maintain home automation systems using Savant, Lutron, and potentially Crestron.
- Configure and maintain robust network infrastructures, including advanced configurations using VLANs and ensuring network security.
- Manage AV systems integrating AVB and Dante technologies.
- Oversee and maintain advanced security and surveillance systems, including CCTV and access control.
- Ensure optimal functionality of climate control, lighting, pool/spa, and home theater systems.
- Manage and integrate smart appliances and robotics used within the properties.
- Implement and manage smart event management systems to assist in organizing events at properties.
- Develop personalized room settings that adjust based on guest preferences.
- Provide integrated entertainment systems offering personalized content recommendations.
- Provide 24/7 emergency support and rapid response to system failures or performance issues.
- Develop and implement user-friendly interfaces and control systems for non-technical guests.
- Conduct regular system tests and updates to ensure functionality and security.
- Maintain backup power systems including generators and UPS to ensure uninterrupted service.
- Monitor and manage environmental systems such as air quality and humidity controls.
- Train house staff and guests on basic operation of systems as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven expertise in Savant, Lutron, and Crestron systems (certification required).
- Extensive experience with high-end residential or luxury hospitality projects.
- Deep understanding of network engineering, including VLANs, network security, and IoT device management.
- Proficiency with audio networking technologies such as AVB and Dante.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for interaction with staff and guests.
- Willingness to travel and provide on-site support across various properties.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in user experience design and system integration.
- Background in managing emergency support for high-availability systems.
- Ability to train and lead teams during system upgrades or troubleshooting missions.

Pay: $93,365.00 - $99,213.00 per year
